Taber to Play On! in Support of Arena Rebuild

We are excited to share that the Town of Taber, AB and Play On! Canada partnered to host a regional street hockey event March 27-28, 2026 in support of the community's efforts to rebuild its arena. Fourty-Three teams participated in an effort to claim community street hockey supremacy!

Draft an NHL Alumni or Olympic Gold Medallist!

Teams who raise the most funds for the arena will acquire rights to draft an NHL Alumni or Olympic Gold Medallist to either play on or coach their team, with the top fundraising team acquiring the first pick in the draft!

Description

This event was held with six temporary street hockey rinks constucted on 48th Ave as well in the parking lot of Taber Community Centre.

An NHL Alumni / Olympic Gold Medallist Draft took place virtually on Thursday, March 26th at 7pm. The top eight fundraising teams were invited to participate.
