PowerHockey Canada and Play On! Canada partner to make hockey more accessible

April 26th, 2024

Today, PowerHockey Canada and Play On! Canada are proud to announce their agreement to enter into a purpose-based partnership.

Given that we share similar missions and values, including community, sportsmanship, growing the game of hockey across Canada, and ensuring the game is accessible and inclusive for all; this partnership agreement was an obvious one.

After first collaborating and becoming increasingly familiar with each other's respective organizations at the World of Hockey Summit in March of 2024, we have engaged in this partnership to demonstrate our support and commitment to our shared objective of growing the sport of hockey across Canada by creating inclusive and accessible opportunities to play. This shared objective includes the desire to collaborate with strategically aligned organizations.

With our respective areas of expertise, including creating programs for the disabled and other marginalized communities and establishing affordable programming across Canada, we are excited about the opportunities that this partnership will offer.

We look forward to working together in the coming weeks, months, and years.

About Play On! Canada:

Play On! Canada is the federally registered not for profit organization that keeps Canada’s youth playing outside and together. It uses the culturally significant and popular Canadian pastime of street hockey to create greater connection, physical literacy, and belonging for youth, newcomers, girls, the disabled and others. Since its inception in 2003, the organization has delivered 179 mass participation street hockey events in forty-one Canadian communities in every Province involving approximately 2.5M participants, volunteers, and spectators. Holding the Guinness record as the largest event of its kind in the world, most of its participants do not play ice hockey. All Play On! events include divisions for all ages, genders, and experience levels. The organization is currently seeking funding partners for its 2025 programming.
